My baby turned 2!!!
My goodness how time flies! We celebrated Mason's birthday several times this year! Because his birthday is on Christmas Eve, we decided to celebrate with friends early. We began the celebrations two weeks early at my parents house in Garfield, then invited a few of his favorite friends over on the 22nd, and devoted the first half of Christmas Eve to Mason and his birthday. I think Mason really enjoyed his party with friends. They spent time playing, decorating gingerbread cookies (they all looked great!), eating, singing "happy birthday" and ended with gift opening. It was short and sweet (very sweet with all that candy!), just perfect for a 2 year old!
What a year of accomplishments this has been for Mason! Here are some of his major mile stones reached, interests, and favorites...
* Just after his first birthday, his first word spoken was: "plop!" and now at two is talking in sentences! His most adorable/memorable phrase being "I not know" (in his sweet Mason voice with hands and shoulders raised...so cute!!!)
* Mason picked up on the ABC's and 1-2-3's quite quickly! He knows his alphabet, can count to 20, and even knows his colors (green is his favorite).
* Favorite foods of Masons include blueberries, broccoli, peanut butter and jelly, chips and jelly beans (always found in Granny's purse!)
* Mason's favorite things in the world right now...his passy, bright green stocking hat, family, Mom's hair, and our new cat Zoe!
* Some of Mason's favorite activities and things to do include singing and dancing, reading books, watercolor painting, tackle/football with Dad and Garrett...READY!...SET!...HIKE!!!, tractors (especially if he gets to ride on them), swinging in blankets (hammock style), collecting things like rocks, pine cones, and bugs to put into a truck to drive around, swimming, and playing hide-and-seek.
Although moody at times, Mason is a super sweet, loving, well behaved boy who is loved VERY much!
