For Garrett's fifth birthday his grandparents got him a trainer water ski. Unfortunately his birthday is at the END of summer which limits the ski's use THIS summer. And because we don't own a boat and our jet ski is at Steven's parents, we decided to take advantage of Labor Day weekend and travel back home to get our final round of lake play in and break in the new ski. It was a relatively cold weekend, but we did get one good day of water fun in and Garrett did GREAT on the ski! In fact, he got so comfortable that he was trying to get a little tricky and cruise it from side to side. As you can see in the video, the rope needed a little adjusting but after stopping in the cold water, we couldn't convince him to go again...good thing we will have all of next summer to practice :)
Even though the weather did not completely cooperate this weekend, we had a great time and were thankful for the hot tub as a lot of time was spent in it to warm up! As always, the boys' highlight was riding on the jet ski as many times as possible...preferably wild and crazy for Garrett and "super fast" for Mason. There was also excitement when my super brave snake hunter caught a snake!!! I could not believe it when Garrett actually chased it down, caught it, and played with it for as long as he did...his dad was standing as far away as possible! Great big thanks to Granny and Papa for yet another great weekend at the lake!
