A very happy Halloween 2009

This was one of our best Halloween's yet filled with fun from Garrett's preschool, pumpkin carving, Granny and Papa's visit, and trick-or-treating with friends.

The festivities started on Thursday with Garrett's preschool celebration. It was a lot of fun to see him and his peers dressed up for the party. Mason even got to join in on the fun...he was a very excited little brother getting to go into Garrett's class dressed in his firemen costume.
The class frosted and ate their cookies then...
Performed adorable songs and finger plays for the parents. I love listening to their sweet voices sing...truly heart warming!
Pumpkin carving! Garrett was so proud of himself as he cut open, scooped out the pulp and carved his pumpkin ALL BY HIMSELF...and how cute it is too!!!
Daddy and Mason worked together to carve Mason's enormous pumpkin and it turned out great too :)
Three of our many pumpkins this year. Stevens "Vandal's", Mason's "happy" and Garrett's "X" pumpkins on display.
Granny and Papa came for a visit this weekend too and were really excited to be able to watch Garrett play basketball. Garrett must have been extra excited too as he scored 3 baskets and proved once again to be a super hustler! This year was our first Halloween not spent at our own home/neighborhood trick-or-treating and passing out candy. My first thought was how I would miss seeing and passing out candy to all the trick-or-treaters that came to our house. That thought was quickly replaced with the excitement of going out as a family and better yet with great friends too! So, we packed up the boys and our pumpkins and headed over to the Richins for dinner and trick-or-treating.
Here are the four boys...two spidermen, a batman, and firefighter
Fun times, getting to go up to the doors by themselves now!
This was quite a scare for the boys as a live man came out of the coffin as they took candy from the bowl.
Ah, the loot...and lots of it! In fact, after selecting seven pieces each (one for each day next week), Garrett and Mason walked away with 3 pounds of candy! They then sold their candy to their dentist for $1.00 per pound which subsequently was sent to our troops in Iraq! I hope to be able to get away with this for many years to come!
Here they are ready to crash! Everyone snuggled up in their jammies to watch a movie while us adults got to play some games...fun times...thanks for hosting Richins!
