A beautiful February day at the zoo

February provided us with several beautiful spring like days this year and we took full advantage of them!  The boys and I spent over 4 hours at the zoo (by far our longest zoo trip yet!); taking our time viewing some of our favorite exhibits.  The highlight of the trip for the boys came when we were walking through the Lorikeet aviary with cups of "nectar"; they were so thrilled when the birds landed on them to drink, and boy were they hungry!  The boys also spent a great chunk of time playing in a large sand box with trucks, diggers, shovels and buckets...surprisingly, that was a first for our zoo trips too!  After having lunch and seeing all that we cared to see at the zoo, we ended our trip by exploring an old steam train parked near the parking lot that the boys have always wanted to see but have not for one reason or another.  I look forward to many more "perfect" days at the zoo with the boys this spring...amazing what good behavior can do for a day!

Garrett loves attempting to run as fast as a jaguar and boy can he run!
Checking out the zebras
That is the look of pure excitement!
Mason got to feed the birds too...so much fun for them!
Garrett and the Lorikeet having a conversation :)

The sea lions are one of our favorite exhibits to take in, quite impressive as they swim right up the glass in front of the boys.
What a great time the boys had playing in the giant sand box!
My proud little conductor :)
Until next time...

  1. Oh my what fun for the boys! I love that you put all those pictures of the boys having so much fun, I love their expressions. Good job mom. You boys are so lucky to live so close to the zoo. I love you all, Aunt Kathy
