4th of July Vacation

Our favorite part of summer is the time spent at each of our parent's lake places, we are always wishing for more time when we have to leave! This summer, we were able to make it a 10 day vacation split between our families. We spent the first half at my parent's lake place on Pend Oreille River. Family and friends were there to celebrate the 4th of July with us and everyone had a great time! We played games, swam, went boating, fishing, bike riding, watched fire works over the water, enjoyed our time around the campfire roasting marshmallows and sharing stories and even watched Garrett's first attempt at water skiing this year...on my old trainer skis! Although slightly reluctant and nervous about the skis sinking, Garrett gave it his all, nearly making it up on his first try. We however forgot to tell him about letting go of the rope if he falls or gets scared and he got towed a short distance in the water...needless to say, he was done after that!

The last half of our vacation was at Steven's parents lake home. We had a great time there as well! The boys could not get enough of our jet ski, we went on countless rides and the boys loved every minute of it (except when the 4 of us got on and tipped it!). The boys also had fun looking for and then scaring the turtles off the log, swimming, playing in the hot tub, going on several golf cart rides, Garrett and Steven had a blast tubing, and we went on many boat and paddle boat rides as well. Although I don't have pictures of it, we took the boys to a local rodeo and arena football game, firsts for both of them that turned out to be a great time for all. Our vacation was fantastic, we are hoping to be able to squeeze another trip in before the end of summer...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
