Well, two weeks of school have now passed and Garrett seems to really be loving his second year of preschool. We have had great conversations about his days which is a great accomplishment as it was like pulling teeth to get him to verbally share much last year! The highlights of his days have been singing, painting, class helper jobs, playing with his friends outside, and cooking--he got to flip the blueberry pancakes they made this morning in class and was ever so proud of himself! I think his favorite part of school right now is learning all of the class songs...he sings at every meal of the day (the snack time prayer), while he is playing, and randomly throughout the day. Some of the cutest have been him chanting their class cheer...1-2-3 Busy Bees! And mimicking his teacher with "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!". He told me that is what she says when passing out stickers to those who help with clean up.
I have been cherishing my one-on-one time preschool has provided me to have with Mason! We spend 1 to 2 days a week at the indoor play park which is in the basement of Garrett's school. Mason has a great time there and leaves exhausted; I have yet to get him home before he falls asleep! He has a lot of fun driving the cars and trucks around, imaginative play with the kitchen, playing on the play structure/slide, doing the crafting project (much more into crafts than Garrett was), reading in their library, singing songs, making new friends, and his very favorite part is at the end when they blow thousands of bubbles for the kids to run around in to pop! We have also been trying out the local libraries but have not been successful in finding a program that even compares to what the library in Pullman was able to offer, their children's librarian was phenomenal! So, the search continues and we hope to continue having fun along the way...lets hope we find what we are looking for soon!
