Today was Garrett's first field trip. His whole school went to the Portland Zoo...lots of fun! I imagined that we would all tour through together but that was before I realized the whole school was going! We ended up doing our own thing, going where ever, when ever and it was great. We would bump into class mates from time to time but it really allowed us to move at our own pace (necessary when on your own with 2!). We were really excited to be able to see the new addition to the zoo, baby elephant Sam (that is short for a name I am uncertain of spelling!). He was adorable!!! I didn't get any pictures of him though because my camera got left in the car after our quick lunch break :( There was a lot of the zoo we did not see this time around but Garrett's favorite parts were hearing the roar of a lion (pretend lion with a recorded roar), the baby elephant, and giant sea lions. Mason's favorites were the monkeys, frogs, sheep, and fish. Although a brisk morning, it ended up being a wonderfully beautiful day at the zoo!
