Visiting Family and Friends

This past weekend was our time to catch up with family and friends and we did just that! Steven was able to take a few days off work allowing us to leave for home (I think we will always call it home) Wednesday after preschool and stay through Sunday. It had been a few months since I had seen my parents and I was going through some withdrawals! We had a great time celebrating an early Halloween with them since we will not be together for it this year. The boys had fun carving pumpkins with Grandpa, taking several "tractor" rides, and building a bonfire to roast marshmallows on.

Another highlight of our trip was an evening spent at my aunt Kathy's house (thank you Kathy for opening up your house to all of us!) where my Mom prepared a delicious dinner for mine and Steven's family. It is great to be able to bring both of our families together when we come home to visit. Steven's Great Grandfather is in a nursing home in my aunts hometown so we took the opportunity to spend sometime with him and got some great pictures of the boys with their Great Great Grandpa...not many people have that!

The boys had a sleepover with Nana and Grandpa on Saturday, so Steven and I headed to Moscow to catch up with some of our friends. Steve spent his time tailgating in the afternoon and bachelor partying in the evening. I was able to catch up with our old backyard neighbors and spend the night with some of my Dining Diva girl friends.

The boys did surprisingly well on the trip this time, only having a couple meltdowns...I guess it just gets easier with age :) I hope they continue to do well with the drive though because I don't think we can manage to go more than a month or two with out seeing our families!!!
