Bye, Bye Paci!

Mason's paci-free smile!
So I feel incredibly guilty that Mason is 2 1/2 and just now giving up his paci...but he is...hooray! There was always one excuse after another as to why we needed to wait a little longer...we were going on a trip (that excuse was used many times), we need to wait until this cold passes, maybe after that molar comes in...excuse after excuse. Well the biggest wait was Mason's surgery and that is a thing of the past now :) so the time has come! Yesterday was his his first full day (nap and bed time) with out his paci and he did surprisingly well. We did go through 1 1/2 sippy cups of water at bed time and woke with the birds at 5:30, but none the less, we made it! I have him convinced that he left it at his Aunt Kathy's last weekend and that is way too far to drive to get it! I hope it quickly becomes a forgotten issue as it could easily be a make or break situation camping this weekend! How long did it take your little ones to get over not having a pacifier at bed time when the time came?

  1. We took the boys' binky's away at exactly 2 1/2 years. It was perfect timing. They asked for one day and night and then they were fine. We had talked about it for weeks in advance and even circled the day on the calendar. Good luck to you! And BTW, at their 3 year dental check up, the dentist said that all evidence of them ever using a binky was gone.
